The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and Las Vegas Events (LVE) recently announced that the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) will continue to be held in Las Vegas through 2035. This exciting news also coincides with a significant increase in the NFR’s prize money, making this year’s event the richest in history.

Las Vegas has solidified its position as the premier destination for the National Finals Rodeo (NFR). A new agreement, effective in 2024, will significantly increase prize money for contestants and stock contractors.

In 2024, the total purse will exceed $16.2 million, with over $12.5 million going to contestants and $3.75 million to stock contractors. The 2025 NFR will see a further boost, with a total purse surpassing $17.5 million.

PRCA Extends Las Vegas Partnership, Boosts NFR Payouts

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) has announced a landmark deal with Las Vegas to keep the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in the city through 2035. This agreement will significantly increase the prize money for contestants and stock contractors, as well as provide annual salary increases for contract personnel.

Increased Payouts Starting in 2025, the contestant purse and compensation for stock contractors will increase by $1 million annually. By the end of the contract in 2035, the total payout will exceed $27.5 million.

A Win-Win for All PRCA CEO Tom Glause expressed enthusiasm about the deal, stating, “Las Vegas is the perfect home for the NFR. This agreement benefits everyone involved in the sport, from contestants and stock contractors to committees and personnel.”

Bill McBeath, chairman of the Las Vegas Events Board of Trustees, echoed Glause’s sentiments, emphasizing the strong partnership between Las Vegas and the PRCA. He highlighted the mutual benefits of the agreement and the city’s commitment to the NFR and rodeo as a whole.

With record-breaking prize money on the line, the 2024 NFR, held December 5-14 in Las Vegas, is poised to be an exciting event for fans and competitors alike.
